Brisbane rock band Young Lions are facing a setback ahead of their upcoming national tour, with frontman Zach Britt’s car and guitar gear stolen in a recent break-in. The theft resulted in at least $8,000 in losses, and with the car not insured, the band is unable to claim back the stolen equipment. In response, the band has started a Go Fund Me appeal to help cover the cost of replacing the gear.
In a statement on the fundraising page, Britt shared that this was a difficult moment for him, but he remains determined to continue playing music and bringing joy to fans through his performances. He added that “every little bit helps” and that he had no expectations, but made the impassioned plea because he wants to continue playing music for many years to come.
At the time of writing, the fundraiser has received over $7,000 in donations, with a top donation coming from Melbourne band Ocean Grove. The band recently celebrated the release of their fourth album, “Make A Rainbow And Put It In The Sky,” which was named by Britt’s son Harper. Despite the recent challenges, the band remains optimistic and proud of their new album and the journey they took to get there.
Fans and supporters of Young Lions can show their support by donating to the Go Fund Me appeal, and helping the band get back on track ahead of their upcoming tour.
